Over the next few months, I will be listing a number of outstanding, straight bred DeRauw-Sablons for sale.
"NEW ERA" DeRauw-Sablons
About 2018, I made the decision to concentrate on the famous DeRauw-Sablon strain and began obtaining some outstanding "foundation" imports from various sources. These original birds were bred very closely to many of the famous DeRauw-Sablon champions. Since then, I have concentrated on a breeding program centered around these original imports as well as on their select sons and daughters. Over the past few years, I have also added a few, very select DeRauw-Sablon imports to my breeding program. I now have an outstanding collection of, what I believe are, some of the very best examples of the famous DeRauw-Sablon strain. Birds bred this closely to the famous champions are getting to be very difficult if not nearly impossible to find.
The DeRauw-Sablons are a true family and were developed over some 30 years through a program of very selective inbreeding and line-breeding. As a result, they make a great cross with just about any other good family of birds. The DeRauw-Sablons are responsible for a number of National and Provincial winners and Ace Pigeons at all levels! Some of the very best and well-known flyers here in the US, as well as in Belgium, Holland, Germany and a number of other countries, recognized the value of the DeRauw-Sablon strain and attended the [DeRauw and Sablon] partnership dispersal sale in 2003 and then Frans Sablon's final sale in 2009 in an effort to obtain some of these valuable bloodlines. Fanciers such as such as Marcel Aelbrecht, the late Jules Mannaert, Marc DeCock, the late Andre Verbesselt, Erik Limbourg, Freddy & Jacques Vandenheede, the late Pros Roosen, Gerard Koopman, Gaby Vandenabeele and many, many more have had tremendous success with the DeRauw-Sablons bred straight or by using them as a cross.
The DeRauw-Sablons are mostly Blue Bars in color. The males are generally medium to a little over in size and the females are medium to a little under in size. They have everything that you'd want in a pigeon.....winning bloodlines; excellent feathers; strong backs and vents; and great eyes.
In the past few years, they have performed extremely well in One Loft Races and in Club and Combine racing for me and/or a for few close friends competing against many of the top lofts around. And this was done with a very limited number of the "New Era - DeRauw-Sablons" being entered (an average of only about 5 to 6 birds per race, including replacements for any missing birds) .
IF YOU AREN'T ALREADY FAMILIAR WITH THE DERAUW-SABLON STRAIN, YOU CAN FIND NUMEROUS ARTICLES AND A LARGE AMOUNT OF INFORMATION ABOUT THEM ONLINE.
