Hofken-Phantom & Roster (Sire & Bro to Mona Lisa)
item #: 29284
Description

Very nice cock from the Hofken from the Mona Lisa Family. Has bred good race birds.See pedigree for more details.

The reason for the sale is that house is in escrow and I’m moving to the city from a little over acre lot out in the country to make the wife happy.  Going to be staying in an apartment or with family until we find a house. Also, not sure if the house we find will allow pigeons so, all pigeons are for sale. Currently located in Tulare, which is North of Fresno and South of Bakersfield. I am about 5 miles east of the Loves Gas Station on Paige Ave. in Tulare.

I went through my birds and got rid of birds that I would not keep each year including this year. I have youngsters and breeders available.   All birds have pedigrees and were bred in 8 compartment breeding individual breeding pens and other individual breeding pens to ensure parentage.

Some of these birds I paid a large amount of money for, but come check them out and make me an offer on one or all of them. These birds not only win for me, but for others as well (Avalos Loft, Ayala Loft, Cook Family Loft, Ken Larrey, Richard Grajiola, & Gill Family in Ohio, a guy in New York, Colorado, North Carolina, Texas,  (don’t remember their names) & etc.  They have won money and placed really well in the OLRs (SFBATC, Spring Break, Blue Bucket, Breeders Fall Classic, AIC, Hoosier, & etc).  They have won races in the club and combine from 150 to 600 miles.

Families include:

Houbens from 410 and 217 lines. Race well to 600 miles. I sent a late to 600 and she was first bird in the morning next day. money winners in OLR.  Several other great Houbens from Never Say die with 410 and 410/Jos Thone. More Houbens from APC line that won Convention Race and first place in a Canadian race.  Bred the convention winner, brother, and father and crossed onto other Houbens and Ban Loons. Another Houben hen from Gallo family that has bred winners upto 400 miles. Another hen from Gallo line that was a winner in New York and since breeding winners for me. 3 other Houbens that have bred nothing but winners. One only bred short distance the other two have bred winners locally and at the Spring Break for me.

Janssen/Hofken  Janssen from CBS line and Hofken from Aske line.  Also another hen and cock and hen feom Hollywood line. Bred winners feom 150 to 600 miles.  One bird was equal first on every single race upto 350 miles except the qualifying 125 mile race. One bird won combine by 32 mins at the 600 miles flying 15 hrs and 3 mins on the day.  Two nest mates sent to the Spring Break won money on the final and flew well in the other races as well.

Janssen/Kannibal winners upto 600 miles.  A bird won 15th overall speed against over 5000 birds at Hoosier. Nestmates was 46th at the final 350 mile race at the Breeders Fall Classic. Both of these racing birds bred winners flying in Ohio for a friend.  A siblings was equal first and scored in top 10% in the combine in all 6 races it was sent to upto 400 miles. Many winners in the combine with these birds.  Then I have Janssen/Kannibal/Van Loon from Carey Tilson lines. They have bred countless winners for me, especially crossed onto my Houben/Thone birds. I sold a hen to Mike Groe and he bred she bred him a $14,00+ winner at the SFBATC.

Gaby Vandenabeele from Doc Stevens that dominated the combine and bred winners for me and a friend in Ohio. Another cock from Mike Groe OLR winner and brother to 400 first loft and 4 in the combine on tough day as well as other siblings OLR money winners. Also another hen feom CBs that flew very well from 150 to 500 miles.  This is what the Gaby V family is based on.

Then I have other birds from similar lines that flew well in the OLR or were siblings to those winners in the OLRs that crossed well. I would cross winners from these crosses to the original family.  Janssen cock that bred winners for a guy in Idaho. A Janssen pair that bred well upto 500 miles from a guy in Illinois.  Sablon birds from Kenny Rhodes and Little Reata Loft.  Also from Kenny Rhodes the family that has won several cars for him in South Africa. David Demko birds that raced in South Africa. One was a bird full brother to 14th place whose grandson has bred winners here and in South Africa for Tim Holt in NC. The sibling I had placed 124 in the final and the mate placed 129th. The mating was basically flipped. I bred those together and then inbred their children and I sent a son to my friend in Ohio and all of his children either won or were his top birds in all races to 300 miles since that is the longest they go in YBS.  Another of the South Africa line is bird from McLauglin Lofts that bred 2 money winners in 2 different years with 2 different hens. Super nice birds.

The Van Loons are from Ken Christopher. All of these birds raced in the OLRs and bought after the races were over. From all the birds I kept only 3 that bred well upto 600 miles. They crossed well with all the above families.

Lastly, the Kolvenbag & Son lines. The ones that I have are from the Freya line and she was a Van Loon and A Klass cock. This family bred 7 generation of winners for Kolvenbag & Son. These crossed onto Janssen/Van Loon bred me 2nd bird in the State and 28th overall in he US, training toss winner in South Africa, & etc. These race well only upto 350 miles.  I bred around 3 main birds and not only the original birds produce winners, but the children produce winners. I have not tried these with any other birds as of yet.  A hen and a cock bred one my best birds being bred together the last time I flew YBs.

I raised youngsters from these families each year planning to fly, but do to either lack of time or back issues was not able to. I always eliminated heavily and kept what I would fly/breed.  I will not sell an inferior quality pigeon that I would not use myself  to anyone in the sport.
