This hen carries a very unsual package of genes. She is beautiful and has a great conformation. Her father has been a steady and reliable racer for me, winning 3rd place 85m 3rd place 200m 4th place 100m 4th place 300m. He tested as AA for the LDH-A gene which is very rare. First year breeding he bred Kastle 1506: 13th vs. 265b. @ 300m 17th vs. 201b. @ 150m 27th vs. 286b. 150 m AND Kastle 1587: 5th Champion YB for LRPC. The list of wins by cousins, neices and nephews continues to grow. Simply put, they are very reliable birds. This hen includes the lines of Kannibaal, Eisenhower, Joint Venture and Black National and Golden Gaby. The Koopman/Kannibaal's crossed with Gaby's have proven to be great crosses for both flying and breeding (can you say "Harry"?).
You may not care about the racing performance genes LDHA and DRD4. If you don't, then this bird may not interest you. This bird carries the LDHA gene in it's homozygous form (AA). Try finding an LDHA AA bird when you want one. Let's add a little DRD4 to the recipe, too (CCCT). If you want to add any of these genes to your loft, this bird can help you get there quickly.
**Please Note: The shape of these birds have not been digitally altered or contoured in any way. I do not digitally sculpt my birds. You can trust that this is what they look like.
Just what are the LDHA and DRD4 genes and why should you care? It's found in only a very small percentage of our birds and studies have shown that it is present in top performers. The birds listed above carry this gene and can introduce it into your loft. Dave Shewmaker has written a great explanation about it.
