– Flame & Flicker
In 2019 I bred a red mealy cock I named Flame (AU-2019-JEDDS-4925). He’s a son of 6322 (AU-2016-GL-6322) DCWF Cock which was a 1st Champion Yearling at the Club and Combine level for Skip Walston in 2017. 6322 was purchased by a fancier in Taiwan. Flame’s mother is 250 (AU-2017-WACO-250) Mealy Hen who is a daughter of Red River (Klaas bloodline) and African Lady (a daughter of Kruger’s Cut the Cuteness – 3rd in the 2010 SAMDPR). She was bred by Tony Jordan in Texas. Although Flame wasn’t raced, he was trained extensively to a distance of 150 miles and showed all of the attributes I want in my pigeons – excellent physical traits, intelligence, endurance, and the color red! In the off season I was able to convince my mentor, Skip Walston, to let me borrow his Red Ludo Hen, now named Flicker, as a mate for Flame – and what a mating that proved to be!! Every round the youngsters felt better than the last. I trained them all very hard and eventually made the hard decision to pull all 6 red checks to set a solid foundation for the future of my loft. The children of the Flame & Flicker mating are: Sons – Spartan & Legend; Daughters – Shades of Red, Winning Colors, Mamacita & Red Skye.
Flicker remains in my breeding loft. She is the 1/2 sister to Lady Mayor who won 3x’s =1st and 1st Overall in the 2014 High Desert Yearling Classic One Loft Race and 1/2 sister to Lady Velvet who won 9th Overall in the 2014 Lucky 17 One Loft Race. Flicker is a daughter of Red O’Four (now owned by Sakis Minovgioudis).
– Red Ludo’s from Cliff Baynon
I’ve had an eye for several years on Cliff Baynon’s Winning Red Ludo family of racing pigeons. I jumped at a chance to add some of his bloodline as a cross into my family when he was selling birds at the end of the 2020 breeding season. We’ll be breeding from three sons of Cliff’s two best red racing hens: Red Hot (IF-2014-LUDO-414) – 2nd, =1st in the 2014 LBR 300 mile bond race, 3rd 2014 ISLIP 300 mile bond race, and prize winner in the 2014 L.I. Challenge 300 mile race – all races at 337 miles, 3 weeks in a row, and Rose (IF-2015-LUDO-567) – 4th Place I.F. Hall of Fame, 2nd Champion Bird SLI Club flying 8 weeks and 1783 miles!
Caliente is a son of Red Hot, when mated to a race winning son of Rose. Code Red and Tornado are nest mate brothers and sons of Rose when mated to #2331 who won 1st at 225 miles for Tommy Hicks, here in NC.

We’ll be breeding from two pigeons from the Continental Breeding Station in Oklahoma, to provide a cross from proven pigeons into our family in the 2021 breeding season.
Windwalker is a daughter of Mad Max (12x’s in top 10% – grandsire to 1st at 300 miles) and Windtalker (super breeding daughter of Speedy and Montana – bred 7th Ace YB in NTC). A perfect specimen that, in crossing, will add versatility and endurance to our family. Red Leo, likewise is built very well, being a cross of Leo Heremans (DiCaprio) and Van Dyck (Kannibaal). He’s a great grandson of DiCaprio and a grandson of Olympus and Donker 601. I am very excited about breeding out of these two pigeons this year.
