Description

Lot 54F IF2017 KOLV1129 BBH “Darling”

Half-Sister of the Famous Three Sisters

“Darling” is a hen with great breeding potential from a family producing the many Top 10% positions for Kolvenbag & Son as well as Ace Champion Birds in the US OLRs in 2017.  Our family of birds is based on Queen L of Jelle Roziers.  The sire of Darling is  “Blauwe Jelle”; his genes are in the majority of our birds winning a stunning 49 Top 10% positions for Kolvenbag & Son in 2017.  Blauwe Jelle is a super breeder, including sire to the Famous Three Sisters: IQ, Gigi (at Silvercreek) and Little Blue (J Gutierrez); all three super breeding hens with most recently Gigi’s daughter producing the 4th place 2017 AU Convention winner on a very hard day.  The dam of Darling is “Karma”, a good racer herself (e1st 325m Plymouth 2016) as well as a good breeder (dam to 8th 350m BFC 2017).  Her dam Tulsa is a daughter of Jelle’s Oklahoma 2nd best young bird of Belgium over 7 national races in 2013 and father of Oklahoma Junior 4th Nat. Ace Pigeon KBDB longer middle distance young birds 2014. (Note:  It is extremely hard to get a youngster of Oklahoma these days).  Another daughter of Tulsa is Sigma (hence a half-sister of Karma).  Sigma wins 13th / e1st 350m and 11th Ace Champion bird vs 863 entries in the Blue Bucket this year.

“Darling” is a nice handling small hen, she passed all selection criteria for breeding at Kolvenbag & Son, being considered a hen with a lot of breeding potential.  She is vaccinated for PMV, so ready to go for breeding.  As you know Kolvenbag & Son focus on OLRs, in particular 300+ miles.  In the last 4 years they have been ranked in the top of breeding lofts participating in US OLR races. In 2017 Kolvenbag & Son had a spectacular year with 49 Top 10% positions in the USA in races over 100miles, including 17 Top 10% positions in races between 100 and 200m, 17 in races between 200-300m and 15 Top 10% positions in race over 300 miles.  This shows that these birds can do all distances.  Also they can do East Coast (1st Ace Champion Bird BFC in NC) and West Coast (South:  1st 350m race SDHC in CA or 4th 350m and  North: 4th Ace Champion Blue Bucket in OR), and in between (eg:  3, 5, 9, 22 in the Mercedes Classic 300m vs 280 birds).  And, then they are consistent too:  Kolvenbag and Son produced a remarkable 6 Ace Champion Birds in the 2017 OLRs finishing in the Top 5% of entered birds.  Kolvenbag & Son finished their race season with a pure 1st on the 350m San Diego Holiday Cup with a grandson of Blauwe Jelle, the sire of Darling. If you want some of the proven Queen L blood via Kolvenbag & Son, “Darling” is the one to go for.
