There were over 5,000 entries in the 2017 Golden Algarve, with 2,624 making the final 505 km race.  WILD BILL and DOC HOLLIDAY flew a tough and difficult final race with a 4-hour delay due to heavy fog.  Most fanciers didn’t believe that there would be any day bird arrivals. The release was at 11:50am, and the temperature topped a scorching 86 degrees with headwinds throughout the course.  Right as dark approached, WILD BILL and DOC HOLLIDAY hit the landing board to the surprise of all, pulling off the amazing surprise arrival and big win!
